Kobe - der Hafen, die Stadt

Kobe ist eine japanische Großstadt mit mehr als 1,5 Millionen Einwohnern und besitzt ienen der größten und modernen Seehäfen Japans. Durch die Größe der Stadt geht sie beinahe nahtlos in die benachbarten Städte über und zählt zu dem großen urbanen Kobe-Osaka-Kyoto-Ballungsraum. Zur Ausbreitung der Stadt wird bereits seit einigen Jahren versucht, der Bucht zusätzliches Land durch Aufschüttung abzugewinnen. Bestes Beispiel dafür ist der Flughafen von Kobe, der komplett auf einer künstlichen Insel angelegt wurde.

Kultur und Sehenswürdigkeiten

Besonders das Nanking-Viertel, die Chinatown 'Nankin-machi', ist ein große Attraktion für die Touristen und bietet mit den zahlreichen Shops und Boutiquen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für jung und alt. Im Hafenviertel befindet sich der 'Kobe Daibutsu', eine große Buddha-Statue.

Museeen

Eine so große Stadt wie Kobe hat natürlich auch viele Museen, wie das Brauerei oder Kaffeemuseum und das Science Museum mit Planetarium oder das Water Science Museum mit Aquarium.
