Wissenswertes
In Laufe der Jahre wurde Stanley 1982 von den Argentiniern erobert, wobei es allerdings auch zu heftigen Kämpfen gekommen ist, weswegen das Geländer teilweise heute noch vermint ist. Auch noch heute wird die Stadt "Puerto Argentino", also den argentinischen Hafen, genannt.
Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten des Regierungssitzes gehört das Government House, die verschiedenen Kriegsdenkmäler sowie das Museum und die am südlichsten gelegene, anglikanische Kirche der Welt.
