Reisen ab, bis, oder mit Sevilla (Spanien)
Sevilla, die Hauptstadt Andalusien, zählt knapp 700.000 Einwohner und ist somit die viergrößte Stadt des Landes. Laut einer Legende wurde die Stadt vom bekannten Helden Herakles gegründet. Sevilla selbst ist nicht am Meer gelegen, wird dafür aber von beiden Seiten vom Guadalquivir umschlossen, der bis zum Meer schiffbar ist. Links des Flusses befindet sich die eigentliche Stadt mit den Resten der z.T. zerstörten Altstadt. Rechts breitet sich die Vorstadt namens Triana immer mehr aus.Sehenswürdigkeiten
Die Altstadt Sevillas ist labyrinth-artig erbaut und wird von kleinen Gässchen geprägt. Somit ist die Altstadt ideal für Spaziergänge und Stadtbummel aller Art. Gerne vertreiben sich Einheimische und Touristen gleichermaßen die Zeit auf dem Konstitutionsplatz sowie der Plaza de San Francisco, einem beliebten und großen Platz der Stadt.
Die Stadt selbst weist viele Gebäude im altrömischen Stil auf, in der Altstadt sind sogar orientalische Häuser zu finden, die mit Flachdächern versehen sind.
Ein Muss beim Besuch der Stadt ist die Maestranza-Stierkampfarena. Dieser Sport polarisiert selbst über die Grenzen des Landes die Gemüter, ist allerdings ein fester Bestandteil der spanischen Kultur.
Weitere wichtige Bauten sind der gesamte Plaza de España, mit dem Torre Norte und der liebevollen Ornamentik, die Casa de Pilatos sowie die beeindruckende Holzkonstruktion des Metropol Parasol.
