Pointe-a-Pitre

Pointe-a-Pitre ist mit etwas mehr als 15.000 Einwohnern die größte Stadt auf Grand Terre, einer Insel von Guadeloupe, dem frz. Gebiet der Kleinen Antillen. Neben dem Kreuzfahrtterminal ist auch der Flughafen von großer Wichtigkeit für die Insel und er wird täglich von Paris aus angeflogen, was Point-a-Pitre zu einem guten Starthafen für Kreuzfahrten macht. Das brandneue Kreuzfahrtterminal von Pointe-a-Pitre, welches genau zwischen den schmetterlingsförmigen Inseln Grand Terre und Basse Terre liegt, zieht jedes Jahr tausende Besucher an und entlässt diese direkt vom Dock aus auf den nahegelegenen bunten Markt auf dem auf der Insel heimische Kunstwerke angeboten werden. Aber auch Schmuck, Kleidung und originaler Inselrum gehören zu den meistgekauftesten Souvenirs.

Sehenswürdigkeiten

Besonders die weiten, weißen Sandstrände und die bezaubernden Nationalparks wissen zu begeistern. So gibt es gut ausgeschilderte Routen entlang atemberaubender Wasserfälle durch den Regenwald.
